Bio:
I was born in Alamogordo, NM, and raised in Tularosa, NM. I am a graduate of Tularosa High School class of 2006. I have a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Western New Mexico University in Silver City, NM. While attending WNMU, I met and married my beautiful wife Kristin. After completing my degree at Western, I began teaching and coaching in 2012 in Mescalero, NM, teaching high school social studies at Mescalero Apache High School. At Mescalero Apache High School, I spent the first year and a half of my teaching career before having the opportunity to return home to Tularosa to continue my teaching career. I spent eleven years in Tularosa as a New Mexico History teacher at Tularosa Middle School while also serving as a coach in several sports at Tularosa High School. During my time in Tularosa, I became a dad as my wife, and I were blessed with twin boys Matthew and Kenneth, and a beautiful daughter Abygail. While in Tularosa, I also continued my education, enrolling at Western New Mexico University in 2020 to pursue a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. After completing my degree, I transitioned into a role as Dean of Students at Tularosa Middle School before being given an opportunity to join the Alamogordo Public School District in 2023 as the assistant principal at Desert Star. I am excited and privileged to be starting my second year as assistant principal at Desert Star Elementary School. Away from school, I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching my children in youth sports, and hiking in the surrounding areas.
